Q: Help finding a Fishing cake topper?!?
I’m looking for a cake topper where the bride is smiling normally and looks all normal and is arm linked with the groom! Except, I want the groom to be wearing a fishing hat, fishing boots, and holding a fishing pole.
Its a silly thing I know my boyfriend will just ADORE!

I HATE this one!! Haha.

A: lol That is AWFUL! Who would buy that??

http://www.featsofclay.co.uk/ I found this when I searched “custom cake topper”. They make them to your specifications. It may be a little more whimsical than you wanted though…

Here’s a more traditional one: http://www.jwcaketops.com/wedfigurines/hobbiesinterests/fisherman.htm If he does go fishing before the wedding, how cute would it be to get pics of him and the groomsmen fishing in their tuxes? lol

Q: I am looking for a specific cake topper for my wedding. I have finally given in and I am letting my fiancee ha?
have a funny cake topper. However, I am looking for a very specific one that we found about a year ago. It is essentially only the bride, where the groom is suppose to say is a sign with tackle that reads “Gone fishing” much like the one where the bride is not there and it says “still shopping”! HELP!

A: Interesting cake toppers. I haven’t never met that before, but once you cannot find it, you can order a custom one at http://www.fundeliver.com. Just tell the artists what you want, they will draw a 2D draft to grasp your idea, and then sculpt it to a 3d figurine.
And other amazing thing is the head are custom made from your photo to resemble you. That is the coolest wedding cake topper I’ve ever met.

Q: Does any one have any fishing theme reception ideas?
My wedding is in May of 2009. My fiance loves to fish and wanted to honor us both in our wedding and reception. The colors are red and white. I am getting married outside by a lake. The reception will follow in a a/c red and white barn. I already thought of a fishing cake topper and naming the table different lakes we have fished at. I need more ideas though.

I already thought of a fishing cake topper where the bride is pulling the groom back with a fishing pole and naming the table different lakes we have fished at. My cake will be traditional with just the fishing cake topper and his will be a Bass fishing groom’s cake. I thought of using fish bowls as the centerpieces. Everything in my wedding is very elegant and after 5, there is just hints of fishing in the reception hall. The ceremony is a double hearts theme. I need more ideas though.

A: Sounds adorable!

To go with the laid-back/outdoorsy theme as well as with your colors, you might use those red and white picnic-style checkered tablecloths.

For centerpieces, why not fishbowls with goldfish? To class it up, you could add red or white stones to the bottom of the bowl.

Good luck, it sounds super cute :)

Q: Cake topper?
I would like to find a cake topper with one of the following:

Bride & Groom on an ATV
Groom in hunting camo
Bride & Groom fishing

basically a redneck theme :) We’re not big into country western and I have found a lot of those.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!! =D
oh haha.. lets make fun of southern people one more time just for kicks… sorry we like to fish and 4wheel instead of drinking tea and eating crumpets ;)

Q: Groom cake ideas/topper?
I want surprise my groom with his own groom cake. I’m not sure what I want to go with. He’s a police officer, he loves motorcycles, fishing, and music. I want the cake to be primarily all chocolate… He likes chocolate… I don’t want anything fancy with fruit (as is tradition with groom cakes, I know the background). He’s also big into family, and yes I know this is obvious but he’s pretty fond of me. He’s very romantic so I want this to be something he won’t forget. Any ideas? I already have a few other surprises for him. For instance I found a garter with tiny handcuffs on it and a few other small surprises to incorporate into the day to make it special for him also, but I want the cake to really be great. So, I’m ready for ideas! OH I can’t spend a fortune, we’ve agreed to spend as little as possible in order to go on a awesome honeymoon so under $50 for a topper would be great.

A: My husband didn’t have a tiered cake with a cake topper. He had a chocolate cake that looked like a birthday cake. We are Carolina Canes fans and this was just a couple weeks after they won the Stanley Cup so we had the Canes logo on his cake. You could merely get something done with motorcycles or fishing birthday cakes–they have a lot of those and some even have lil motorcycles or lil fishing rods that stick out of the cake.

I want to keep the price down, so the personalized ones are out of my price range unless they are cheaper somewhere. Under $50 would be great.

A: Maybe you can either have a police motorcycle, he’s the drive and you’re in the back. Or, you can have a cake where you can have a female with a wedding dress on putting a handcuff on a male with a tuxedo on.

Hope that helps

Q: Wedding cake help!!!?
I want to make my own wedding cake, Our wedding is about 30 people. I am wondering how big i should make the cake, i want to do 2 tiers. I dont know if i should so, cake on bottom then cupcakes? What colors should i do? Its in late spring early summer on the beach w/ close family and friends only. We are having a reception 2 weeks after then 2 months after going to Vegas w/ our immediate family for fun.
The wedding isn’t traditional, we are “renting” out a restaurant and having dinner there. Also he nor i will be in a formal gown or tux but we will still be wearing white. The cake topper is the bride w/ a fishing vest and fishing pole “hooked” on to the groom who is on all fours, crawling away. any suggestions on size, shape color for the cake? Thanks!

A: i would maybe do i light yellow and blue, those are always good colors- maybe the layer of cake blue(like water) and then the cupcake color either yellow/brown (for sand) or brown(maybe for a boat)

Q: Birthday Ideas for you – cakes and presents!?
Ive read alot of people on here are after bday pressie ideas,or cake ideas…

I sculpt mini versions of people -personalised cake toppers -to either go on cakes (or next to them) or to give to the birthday person as a gift. The sculptures stand 18cm high & are sculpted to look exactly like the person. Not only hair colour & skin colour- but facial features are carved to resemble the person very closely, Its something they can look back on in years to come & remember what they used to look like and their interests -u can have them sculpted with their hobbies too – fishing rod, cat, shopping bags, golf club etc

I e just started this business here in Australia (no one else, i have found, does it) – and would like to know everyones opinion on it?
Would it be something you’d think about getting as a present 4 someone,or for yourself as a cake topper..??
Its also popular for wedding cakes.

Not sure how to go about advertising something like this- without huge costs to begin with ???

A: I would give pamphlets etc to party planning and wedding planning shops to hand out in their info packs. Or maybe visit wedding shows and hand them out. this would be a low cost way of getting the word out about your business. as it grows, perhaps advertising in wedding magazines, and build a website for your business.

i probably wouldnt be interested for a birthday cake or something, but think it would be good for a wedding or graduation cake.

good luck with it all.

Q: Need a saying for grooms cake HELP!?
the grooms cake for our wedding is for a fisherman, I am using a topper that has the bride holding a fishing pole with the groom being hooked….The groom is a hardcore fisherman and i am trying to get a cute saying for the cake please help………………

A: “You’re the only fish in my sea.” (A play on the phrase, “there are other fish in the sea”)

Q: My fiance wants to pick the wedding topper. I know that he will pick a “funny” one that probably deals with fi?
fishing…I am not totally against but we are having a wedding on a tight budget. I am afraid that it may look tacky. Should I just relax and let him have his way. I think it is cute but not sure if our wedding cake is the time and place to be funny. I need opinions!
I told him that he could have whatever he wanted on the grooms cake. I suggested it but he really wants to have it on the wedding cake. I think I am going to let him have it and have photos taken with and without his cake topper. We are have a very casual wedding. We are serving fried chicken and let’s just say our families are from two different ways of life. His being the more sophisticated and mine being more laid back and casual.

A: Its just a cake…so I figure let him have this one. If it is fishing bride and groom…who will even see it?
Ive been to at least 50 weddings in my short life…and I have never once seen a wedding topper, or people ever looking at it. Even when you do the cutting, people are so far away…!

Q: which theme is best?!!?
after posting my wedding ideas in my last question(see my question history if you want to see all of the details), i’m thinking an ocean theme might not be best suited for our venue.

my bf and I have been discussing this alot the past few weeks (his sister let it slip that he’s proposing soon). we’ve picked everything out together but he’s open to new theme ideas. note-the cake topper stays no matter what-he picked it out b/c of our love of the ocean and fish. we’ll have to work around that.

my venue, cake topper, and wedding colors are posted below. what theme would suite these best for a June wedding next year?

my bouqet will be teal, purple, and cream roses. the bridesmaids will have 3 roses wrapped in dark green ribbon.

my bf and I have planned this all out together the past few months-he told me a while ago my ring was coming so we started planning.

what theme would work best? what favors should we use (we were thinking a candy bar would be fun).
forgot the centerpieces!! here they are:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/9616993@N02/2127515045/ (thinking large pillar should have cream stones/pearls in bottom w/purple flowers and cream floater candle, middle one-cream stones/pearls w/teal flowers and floater candle, last one-cream stones/pearls w/cream flowers and floater candle). will be on a mirror square w/votives surrounding it and teal/purple gemstones scattered. tables will have cream tablecloths w/purple overlays.
this cake topper might work too (bf does like it but not as much as the fish)

A: I wouldn’t do the ocean for AZ – and I don’t think you have to have a “theme” – maybe just a color scheme
