Q: Where in the UK can you buy personalised metal letter wedding cake toppers?

A: I no this isnt what you asked but lidl do a nice letter sparkler for cakes it only has 1 letter but you could buy the whole thing and as long as they touch they would burn roughly in order. hope this helps if not sorry for wasting you time

Q: How do you make a rinstone cake topper ?
Please help me!!! I’v been asking but no one can tell me. How do you make a rinstone cake topper like a letter

A: If using actual rhinestones I would recommend you glue them to a piece of wax paper in the desired shape then after dry cut out and leave about 1/4 inch all the way around the shape – lay on cake then use the piping bag to apply a decorative border around the stones in frosting. To get the look of rhinestones you could use silver frosting to apply the shape then dot with sugar crystals so it is entirely edible but looks like rhinestones. Good Luck!

Q: Cheap initial/monogram cake toppers?
I want a simple monogram with 3 letters for my wedding cake. However, it seems that they are pretty pricey; i don’t want to spend too much on them. Does anyone know any vendors OR alternative sites (not from those selling cake tops but party favors, etc) who offer cheap monogram/letters cake toppers? Thanks.

A: sometimes they are easy to come by and cheap if you check with people who have simular initals or even if you can have them done through a cheap I’ve seen them through oriental trading company. You could check there.

Q: How do you make edible letters? I.E cookies or cake toppers.?
Celebrating babies 1st birthday.

A: J-E-L-L-O

Q: I need words that have to do with cake, frosting, etc that starts with the letter “T”?
Trying to come up with a name for a product (for my neice’s homework) and it has to start with the letter “T”
Its a cake topper (we cant use topper, lol)

A: Tumyum cakes?

haha idk. =p

Q: stupid to use only the first letter of two last names?
never been to a wedding so i don’t know how they do it. what if groom has TWO last names that the bride is changing to? Like – Smith – Carney or Ellison – Smith. Seen cake toppers with just one letter. Does it look dumb to just use the first letter of the his last name as monogram, cake topper, invites, aisle runner etc. So for example just the “S” from Smith – Carney or the “E” from Ellison Smith? Know it seem like something insufficient to some, but just want to know what’s usually done. thanks.

A: It would look silly to only use one of his surname initial since his surname is Name-Name, not just Name. At the reception, if the bride has decided to change her name, then her initial shouldn’t be on the cake since she is no longer Jane Maiden, but is now Jane Name-Name.

Q: Size of a wedding cake topper?
The top tier of our 3-tiered wedding cake is 6 inches in diameter. We would like a single-letter monogram as our cake topper. What size should we get so that it doesn’t look too big or too small on the top of the cake?

A: About 5″ tall is considered right for a 6″ top tier. Go a lot taller than that and you could have a top-heavy look, is the thinking, but a topper that’s only 4″ tall can be dwarfed by a 6″ wide tier. Most cake topper designers do plan for standard top tier sizes such as 4″ and 6″ diameters, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding the right size.

Q: if we are using letters as our cake topper and my name starts with a K and his name starts with a E ?
and his last name starts with a H , How would we positon them KHE or EHK ……and also his first name starts with a T but he dosent go by that name so we should use the E right? Sorry if this is confusing …….but thank you for your help!!

A: you would do KHE. the womans name always goes first. I notice alot of people saying the man’s name goes first but that is not correct. the woman’s initial goes first (K), then the last name initial goes in the middle (H). then grooms initial goes last (E). and yes, you would use E even though his name starts w a T – you go with what he goes by. it actually says this in my wedding etiquette book and you can read about it on this website:

“When you are using a monogram to incorporate both a husband and wife’s initials, the correct is order is woman’s first name initial, the joint married last name initial (larger), then man’s first name initial. The woman’s initial always goes first, such as the monogram of Kate and Alton Richards as shown. K R A”

Q: DIY or buy a Rhinestone cake topper?
I was thinking of making my cake topper. I just want to use the 1st letter of our last name. I bought the monogram at a local craft store. Am I better off buying one already done or DIY? If I DIY, do you think the monogram from craft store will be ok? If I buy already done, does anyone know a good place to purchase? I read some bad reviews for some already.

A: The perk to making it yourself is you can tailor it to your vision instead of settling for something already one. I think its fine to go that route

Q: 3 Inititals cake topper?
When you use the monogram cake toppers with 3 initials, is the 2nd letter the first letter of your last name, the first letter his initial and the last letter your initial? Usually?

A: It would be your first initial, your new last name initial, and then his first name initial. For example, if your names are Beyonce and Shawn Carter, the cake topper would be: BCS.

Just for your reference: your name also goes first on all other personalized items.

Hope this helps!

Q: Cake Topper Update? Help!?
Ok, I posted a question yesterday about cake toppers (Actually 2 questions). I’m wearing ruby red slippers….and i wanted an oz topper….someone gave me this answer

“I know you said you hated the monogram idea (and I don’t blame you) but you could always buy some chipboard letters and then coat them in modge podge and then red glitter to tie the whole theme together..it would look pretty with the black ribbon and elegant. Sparkly, I like sparkly – it would be an eye catcher for sure!”

I LOVE THIS IDEA!
however, how would I do this to make sure the glitter didn’t fall off the letters and get into the cake…..some kind of stand maybe? but How could i get the letters to stand up?
EDIT:

in conjunction with this monogram topper, without getting too tacky, We may get the bride/groom topper where the brides on the bottom tier with her hand reaching out..and the groom on the next level trying to help his bride up…I LOVE IT..omg im so excited i could scream!

A: Okay….hmmm…in order to get your monogram letters to stand up straight, you are probably going to have to either mount them on something or push them down into the cake.

If it was me, I would want to save them, so I would mount them on something.

You have a couple choices:

1. thin plexiglas cut in a circle – you can lay it right on top tier of the cake with the monogram mounted on it, and then use the edible glitter, or some roses to hide the plexiglass..although I don’t think you will need to hide it, but for aesthetic appearances maybe.

2. Buy a cake board the size of your top tier and pretty much do the same thing…cake boards come in all different thicknesses and sizes.

I love the plexiglass idea because I could just see that monogram sitting up on a mantle later on and no one would see the plexiglass unless they got really close.

I would talk to a scrapbooker to see how they would mount the letters in your home town. I think the first thing I would try (as a scrapbooker) is using Diamond Glaze – it will bond anything to anything and is made for scrapbooking stuff, so its perfect for that.
If you are doing a 2D effect – then cut tiny triangles to post the letters up so they have a stand – kindof like a pic frame.

I think I would buy two each of the letters and do a 4D effect – that way you could position the letters in an X shape and people could see the letters from all around. (I wish I could exlpain the image in my head better!)

Anyways, hope this helps!

EDIT: I just did a search – take a look at this: http://www.weddingcuts.com/monogram-cake-toppers.asp
Scroll down a bit – You could probably mount some type of prongs to the letters and then push them down into the cake.
Honestly – I wouldn’t worry about a bit of glitter getting on the cake – no one will notice or care.

Q: what would you use to glue sugar onto plexiglass?
The plexiglass is the letter V it is for my wedding cake topper.I need to glue crystalized orange sugar chunks (Still very small) onto this V without the glue showing or melting the sugar.

A: Assuming you are not going to eat this and the sugar chunks need to be evenly distributed I would use spray adhesive. It will go on evenly and not show. Why Plexiglass? I would use melted sugar poured into a mold with the orange sugar sprinkled on top before it sets.

Q: Cake Topper Monogram?
Where in Edison, NJ I can buy Crtsal Cake Monogram?
can I order this some where online for a OVER NIGHT delivery.
Looking for Letter R, S in small and Z in big size.
Please call me at 732-800-1313

A: online there are a few sites but it seems to take longer than overnight to create and ship these items.

1. This company indicates in their faqs that in extreme cases they can get it out in 1 week. There is an extra fee for that expedited service. http://www.topperswithglitz.com/faqs.pl

2. This company says they can rush order in 5 business days. Again for a fee. http://www.weddingcuts.com/faq.html

3. This company says they can rush orders. I could not find how long that meant it would take. http://www.justcaketoppers.com/Wedding_Cake_Toppers/Monogram.html

I have not personally used any of these companies so cannot vouch for them. I would call though and explain what you are looking for to see if they can accomodate your request.

Good Luck.
