Hey guys can anyone help me – Im looking for a unique wedding cake i want my wedding cake to look like it has pink rhinestones on it – i have looked at edible pink sugar crystals and shimmer powder – if anyone has any ideas on that let me know – also if you have any pictures of wedding cakes with pink decorations that are different and unique let me know – and if you are a weddijgn cake designer let me know – i may have you do my wedding !! Thanks guys !!!

A: The most beautiful and original cakes are done by Elegant Cheesecakes (they were featured on Oprah’s wedding show). I don’t know where you live, but if you have a bakery near you that can duplicate one of their designs, you might want to try that:

There’s a pink wedding cake here:

Q: Wedding cake Pictures / Ideas????

Hey thanks NikiD – Hot Pants is just stupid – first of all on her profile it says shes a man LOL but has a girls pic – so i dont know i thought gay men knew some stuff about style and differnt new things – but if i was never goin to be able to get married because i was a B%TCH then i would be a lil sour too — lol

A: Unfair comment “Hot Pants”. It doesn’t have to be tacky at all.

I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

This is a cake I did last week that was pearls, and has a few rhinestones on it, which gives an idea of what I mean: http://70.84.190.115/6295/37/upload/p4527778.jpg

Or I just found these: http://www.advantagebridal.com/meviwecaje.html

I would go with Hot Pants recommendation of finding a local cake decorator and asking him or her for ideas. Anything is possible. It’s your day, you should have whatever you want, and be damned what anyone else says or thinks.

Congratulations!

Q: Is this a good wedding offer ,please help ,?
I’m getting married next October and amazed at how expensive things are for our wedding day.Everything from table decorations ,topiary trees, top table decorations, tulle bows etc.
I have just come accross a local family run business offering this package which sounds a really great bargain for me to hire from them.
4 fully decorated artificial 4ft topiary trees
15 peony and crystal table centres
15 large twinkle tulle bows centred with the same peonies and crystals
4 x 70cm lily vases and tall peony arrangements
24 ft of ivy to decorate the top table and cake table
2 very large handle wicker baskets with same peonies & crystals and ivy
3 x large handle baskets dressed with ribbons and full bows
We can multi use these throughout the day and evening reception.
To buy allof these would cost me £852.00 and the total hire price is only £199.00
Do you think this is a good offer as with never organising a wedding before we are not too sure?

A: This sounds like a very good offer but check the small print about any breakages or damages. For example, if someone takes home a table arrangement without realising you’re hiring them, how much will you be charged for replacement value?
Never accept it at face value but check and check again any terms and conditions that you have to sign, and deposits you may have to pay.

Q: I’m getting married in January next year. This is an inter-cultural wedding, I’m an Indian and he is american.?
I’ve no idea other than what I read in bridal guides about american weddings. Could you please suggest me some altar decoration, guest book and cake table decorations etc. Is it ok if my mom wears a saree and mom-in-law a dress? I’m planning to add some elements from hindu wedding to make it unique and sort-of fusion like:
1.Carrying a brass lamp instead of bouquet.
2. Seven cirles around fire (the same lamp, I’m going to carry to altar) for our vows
3. favors from India
4. Crystal Bindi and Bagles with white gown
I’ll appreciate any suggestion.

A: yes your mom can use a saree and fmil a dress

alter just some nice flowers not to be mean kinda like the funeral type and one long one that goes on the alter kinda like this

http://www.flowerbarn1.com/Wedding/CWF6621Large.jpg

ask the location that u are doing the wedding if you can transport the flowers or they have it as a donation some catholic churches require the flowers to stay for what reason i dont know. that way something like that can be used on the buffet or head table.

cake table i would have a small table large enough for the cake and have the cake cutters on the side

Q: Formal reception decorations…?
I am having a very formal wedding, black, red and white with all candle lighting. I’m having a four tier cake and I was thinking about incorporating my and my fiance’s little saying (“I love you more than the number of stars in the sky”) into our cake. But then I got the idea to do star decorations. Like maybe star confetti on the table (not lots of it) and maybe some star cutouts hanging from the ceiling. Would this still look okay for such a formal wedding? I would like to incorporate the stars somehow, but not quite sure what to do. We are having a single red rose with clear crystals in a vase on a round mirror surrounded by tea light or votive candles for our centerpieces, so I thought maybe the silver star confetti used sparingly wouldn’t be too bad… I’m not sure how I am going to incorporate the quote into our cake, but I’m thinking about having it written on the bottom tier with stars all over the cake. Nothing will be overdone if the stars are used because I know that can make the difference between nice looking and tacky… Please, any advice would be helpful. *I’m not changing my mind about using the stars somehow; I just need ideas to do so so that it doesn’t clash with the formalization of the reception.

A: The star confetti on the table wouldn’t de-formalize (if that’s even a word) your wedding, although I’d stay away from hanging stars from the ceiling, unless they’re made with fabric or some type of sparkling material. I’d ask your bakery where you got the cake if they can write the saying in a beautiful cursive and float the words so that they don’t look so deliberate in a straight line around the cake and ask them to add edible glitter to the cake. You could also decorate the cake table, dj booth, bars with some twinkle lights covered with tulle to simulate stars twinkling in the sky. Best of Luck!

Q: What size tablecloth should I use for my wedding reception?
I am using long tables, they are 8 feet just your normal banquet size table. I do not know the actual measurements other than it being 8 feet. I am also using round tables for my cake table and then for gift table. I do not know the measurements for that table. I only know that it sits 8 people. I am wanting to get tablecloths for both that are kinda longer because I do not like skirts. Does anyone know what size I should get?

Also I am using the colors clover green, orange, and yellow as my colors. For the table decorations I have white candles and a crystal holding piece. I then have yellow gerber daisies with a tea light candle in the center. Sticking with my color scheme, what colors should I do for tablecloths (I cannot find clover ANYWHERE), plates (bc I am using plastic… cheap or not, I am), and napkins?

A: Properly sized table cloths should either brush the ground or come just short of brushing the ground. If you don’t know the sizes of the tables, why not just call your venue or rental service and ASK?

Q: These are the items I have chosen so far do you like them?
This is my dress :http://www.jasminebridal.com/html/en/web1_couture_2_a.asp?id=1871 they don’t have the exact one on the internet but this one is similar only more crystals and not a sweetheart top.

This is my bouquet: chose:http://www.brides.com/weddingstyle/decorations/gallery/editorspick/detail/177245?f=168%3a180&offset=57#_chip=0

What do you guys think? Also I’m getting married outside and there will be a wedding arch. Would it look weird to have all yellow flowers? Should I add white ones too? Or should I add pink as one of my colors? So I would do yellow and pink arch and my cake would be pink? My center pieces I’m thinking of having edible arrangements so I could do pink and yellow or white and yellow. So confused I like so many things don’t know if they go or not!

A: The gown is gorgeous!!!! Really I love it. I also love yellow and white and platinum. As far as the flowers go , not terrible, but they are really harsh, and they are very winter like. They remind me of snow covered evergreens. So if you arent having a Christmas time wedding, I would go with something a little softer. The cake is neat, but not very classic. IT is very casual looking. And do you realize that a cake like that is 12 dollars a slice. Also I doubt you will be able to find someone that can do that exact technique. Go with something a little more simple,

The overall theme and color is lovely. Good Luck!
