Q: Does anyone Know Where I can Get Non- Edible Cake decorations for Halloween?
Hi, I am creating a haunted wedding scene in my front yard this year, and of course what’s a wedding without a cake right? So I purchased a fake foam 5 tiered cake and plan to paint and and decorate it like a real cake, and I need decorations that are not edible.
I would like some dragonflies or bats that stick out from the cake not sit on it, if you know what I mean, as well as spiders, and a plastic knife to stick in the cake, I also need a relatively cheap but spooky cake topper or any ideas for a cake topper.
Does anyone have any Idea where to purchase these items on-line, or in the Pittsburgh area?
any help would be great.
Also if anyone has ideas on how to make the reception party that would be great, I have the Bride Ghoul, Groom Ghoul, preacher (Grim Reaper) I even have Gore May Crackers, and a Finger Food Bowl with fake fingers in it for the food tables..really gross but really cool..I found these at www.frightcatalog.com.
I also have a really great wedding arch that I plan to decorate really spooky with black organza, a crow, a dead black flowers, and possibly a buzzard..I haven’t decided yet.
Can anyone Help with these things thanks so much..
I can’t wait until Halloween..It’s my favorite
A: i don’t know if y’all have them in pittsburgh but i usually go to somewhere for like Michael’s or hobby lobby for non edible halloween stuff…. they are relatively cheap and have awesome stuff…
i cant wait either! i love halloween!
Q: Wedding Cake!!?
Hey guys can anyone help me – Im looking for a unique wedding cake i want my wedding cake to look like it has pink rhinestones on it – i have looked at edible pink sugar crystals and shimmer powder – if anyone has any ideas on that let me know – also if you have any pictures of wedding cakes with pink decorations that are different and unique let me know – and if you are a weddijgn cake designer let me know – i may have you do my wedding !! Thanks guys !!!
A: The most beautiful and original cakes are done by Elegant Cheesecakes (they were featured on Oprah’s wedding show). I don’t know where you live, but if you have a bakery near you that can duplicate one of their designs, you might want to try that:

There’s a pink wedding cake here:

Q: Wedding cake Pictures / Ideas????

Hey thanks NikiD – Hot Pants is just stupid – first of all on her profile it says shes a man LOL but has a girls pic – so i dont know i thought gay men knew some stuff about style and differnt new things – but if i was never goin to be able to get married because i was a B%TCH then i would be a lil sour too — lol
A: Unfair comment “Hot Pants”. It doesn’t have to be tacky at all.
I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.
This is a cake I did last week that was pearls, and has a few rhinestones on it, which gives an idea of what I mean: http://70.84.190.115/6295/37/upload/p4527778.jpg
Or I just found these: http://www.advantagebridal.com/meviwecaje.html
I would go with Hot Pants recommendation of finding a local cake decorator and asking him or her for ideas. Anything is possible. It’s your day, you should have whatever you want, and be damned what anyone else says or thinks.
Congratulations!
Q: My wedding is less than three weeks away….?
and I’m really not that stressed. Not that I’m complaining, but everyone has been telling me that brides always get really stressed this close to the wedding. I am getting really excited and just slightly nervous, but not stressed out.
I’ve contacted the florist and the flowers are good. Paid for and all arrangements made.
The gal baking my cake knows the plan and has already started making the decorations. (They are non-edible picks that go all over the cake.) Also paid for.
The pastor has everything on his schedule.
My dress is already fitted and pressed, waiting to be put on.
My fiance’s tux arrangements are set. We go on the twentieth for final fitting and pick up. (The weddings on the 25th.)
The decorations are all set, just have to put them up the day before. The reception is cake and punch and the church women’s group is taking care of that.
The rings are with my mom.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen have their clothing set.
The invitations were sent out.
Am I forgetting something? It seems weird that there’s nothing left to do.
The favors are being made. (I hate tedious work so I’m taking my time.)
I’ve known other brides who are panicking at this point.
Am I doing something wrong?
I’ve tried not to be a bridezilla about this. I’ve actually been pretty laid back. I let the bridal party pick their own clothes. The girls picked out their own dress in a particular color and the guys are wearing suits they already owned instead of renting tuxes.
Hair and nail appts are set.
Anyone else see something I missed?
PS – not having a bachlorette party. My matron of honor is in law school and I’m a teacher. We’re just to tired to worry about it. I already had my bridal shower. And even sent out the thank you notes for that.
Oh yeah – we can’t afford a formal photographer so we are having a family friend who dabbles in photography snap some good candid shot and going a few weeks later to have some nice portraits shot at a studio.
Bridesmaid, groomsmen gifts set.
Marriage license being picked up on the 20th as well. (You only have ten days after initial issuance to get the pastor to sign it in the state of OK)
Rehearsal dinner is a no go. Small bridal party and no one wanted to deal with it. Plus we are on a really tight budget.
The only traveling family is the future sister-in-law and she is staying with the future mother-in-law.
A: i wasn’t nervous either…some ppl just aren’t. no big deal. i HATE that ppl think we are suppose to “act” a certian way.
personally i think some ppl that act that way just do it because they think they have to for some reason.
i was cool as a cucumber…even when my dad was half an hour late because of a tire blowing out LOL…never sweat the small stuff…i had my guests there, my groom there…no body was going anywhere..we just waited. HA!
BUT…i didn’t see anything about a photographer…or the grooms gift.
ya know…i think some ppl don’t bother w/ a grooms gift, but thought i’d mention it. my hubby and i didn’t mess w/a gift we just sent a card to each other before so we could read something sweet from one another.
and ya got the old fashion stuff…something old, something new, something barrowed, something blue?
Q: These are the items I have chosen so far do you like them?
This is my dress :http://www.jasminebridal.com/html/en/web1_couture_2_a.asp?id=1871 they don’t have the exact one on the internet but this one is similar only more crystals and not a sweetheart top.

What do you guys think? Also I’m getting married outside and there will be a wedding arch. Would it look weird to have all yellow flowers? Should I add white ones too? Or should I add pink as one of my colors? So I would do yellow and pink arch and my cake would be pink? My center pieces I’m thinking of having edible arrangements so I could do pink and yellow or white and yellow. So confused I like so many things don’t know if they go or not!
A: The gown is gorgeous!!!! Really I love it. I also love yellow and white and platinum. As far as the flowers go , not terrible, but they are really harsh, and they are very winter like. They remind me of snow covered evergreens. So if you arent having a Christmas time wedding, I would go with something a little softer. The cake is neat, but not very classic. IT is very casual looking. And do you realize that a cake like that is 12 dollars a slice. Also I doubt you will be able to find someone that can do that exact technique. Go with something a little more simple,
The overall theme and color is lovely. Good Luck!
