Q: Where can I design a wedding cake online?
A: Here’s what I found when I did my wedding planning. Hope it helps:
http://www.brides.com/weddingstyle/cakes/createacake
You get to choose the colour, the decoration…it’s pretty neat.
Q: Inexpensive Wedding Cake Online.?
I’m in a marriage/family class, and we’re doing the “wedding” right now, and basically I have to design my own wedding with real information. RIght now, I need to find a place online that sells inexpensive wedding cakes (I have a small budget) and has pictures and the flavors online. I tried various sites already, but most places I went to asked me to consult the actual bakery, and since I’m not really buying any cake, I didn’t want to do that.
A: first, thank you for not using the word cheap!!!
most grocery stores have the best prices in the bakery for cakes
depending on how many guests you have, some cakes are priced per slice/serving
Q: online wedding cake creator?
does anyone know of a good cite i can go to to create a wedding cake. i do not want to download any software. just go to a cite and be able to change the shape color and design of a cake
A: There is not a free cake designer online that is worth using. Most of them only let you change a few things and are not capable of creating completely custom cakes. There is a program called Wedding Cake Design Pro that can be purchased for $69.95. It is a really great product but it costs a lot to buy and does not have a free trial.
Here is the website for the product:
http://www.weddingcakedesignpro.com/
I’m looking for the same thing and have been looking for hours. I can’t find anything worth using. I came across your question during my search and thought I would pass on what I have found. I don’t plan to buy Wedding Cake Design Pro but I have seen videos of others using the program. Personally I don’t think the price is worth it unless you are a baker and bake wedding cakes for a living.
A good video that shows you the program is at this website:

I hope this helps and I hope you find a program. If you do I would really love to know because I am looking for the same thing. Good luck on your search!
Q: Snowflake Wedding cake with Buttercream?
I’m getting married in December and I’m looking for a snowflake wedding cake design using buttercream frosting. The bakery I want to go with doesn’t use fondant. So, I’m trying to search online for ideas to bring to them, but I can’t seem to tell which cake is used with fondant, which is used with buttercream. Is it the edges of the cake? Round/smooth edges = fondant?
A: Yes, rounded edges are fondant. Although buttercream can easily be recreated to get the same look without the bad taste and texture of fondant.
Some examples of buttercream:

Q: Wedding Cake Designing?
I know there are programs that you can download or buy to design your own wedding cake but are there any sites that you can use online that you don’t have to download or pay for?
Any other wedding related websites would be helpful too!
THANKS!
A: Have you looked at the library? My cake designer had a book that I picked my designs out of.
Q: What are some of your favorite wedding cake designs?
As I’m planning my wedding I have found myself looking at books and online for different styles of wedding cakes. I started wondering what everyone else thinks looks nice on a wedding cake. Do you have any online that you particularly like? Or if you’re already married, what did yours look like? Would you go for a more traditional cake or a more unique looking one? Here are some that I’ve found online that I really like, they’re all a bit different from each other.

Q: Where is a good place online to find wedding cakes?
I am going to make my own wedding cake. I feel like I have searched all the sites possible and have came up short. I have not found any designs that I like. If anyone knows of a site where there are lots of pictures of cakes please let me know. Thanks in advance.
A: There are so many sites with wedding cake designs.
Google: “wedding cake designs” and you will get a list.
I have attached a few sites with beautiful designs hope this helps you out.
Good luck.
Q: my son’s birthday is in 3 weeks and i need to purchase a gum paste cake topper, the ones with very cute animal?
design in pastel color or a cute little boy… can you please help me find a website that sells these? all i see online are wedding cake toppers in gum paste. i don’t want well-known character cake toppers…just a cute animal creation or a little boy creation. pls help! thank you so much!
A: If you cannot find one (these are rare now-a-days), may I suggest checking World Market for Marzipan creatures, or buying a tube of Marzipan and some food dye to make your own? It’s really easy, and much like working with clay – you can even use molds from either playdoh or from the store. You could also make shapes from fondant – there is a ton of stuff in the cake aisle at Michael’s Craft store.
Best Wishes and a happy birthday to your boy.
Q: Is there a website where I can custome make my own Wedding dress?
I would like to design one online and brainstorm…also this goes for the wedding cake is there a website where I can do this?
A: here is one for the cake
http://www.brides.com/weddingstyle/cakes/createacake/
and one for the wedding dress
http://weddings.ivillage.com/bridalfashion/0,,c19l2h8c,00.html
actually that one for the cake sucks..
try this on

Q: Wedding Cake Anybody??
My wedding colors are Orange, Eggplant and Chocolate Brown. I have been looking online and pictures and such to get an idea but I havent really found any with some or all or one of those colors in it. It’s like a fall leaf orange but I don’t want leaves on my cake. It’s not an autumn theme even though its in November.
Has anyone seen one or show me some YOU like that may have some of those colors in it? But please don’t tell me to design my own or talk to my designer about it because I am just not creative like that LOL.
A: Well I’m going with an ivory cake from a local cake designer in my area called Rosebuds cakes. I went in with a few ideas, my cake is ivory, I’m doing a silver and gold Monogram with an icing that’s very light reflective….
It will also have the little swirls and dots on it as the pattern and we’re topping it off with a chocolate brown ribbon and very deep roses, purple cala lilies, even blood red roses. I wanted something with a very vampy, dark vibe, but still very classic and elegant… very vintage!
This is a pic similar to the cake I chose for myself….

Here are some that are fabulous, and I think they would go well with a fall theme even if they aren’t traditional fall.

(All of the cakes from flickr are from rosebuds cakes, in California… where I’m getting my cake done at)
*** I highly suggest getting an account with theknot.com., it’s free and it’s a great tool! The best site out there for vendors, flowers, cakes, everything! That’s where I got the majority of ideas for my wedding at.
Also any reputable bakery should be able to come up with a design based on the information you just gave us in your question. My advice, print some pics of cakes up off the internet that you really like, pin point to your cake maker what you like most about each cake… and they should be able to come up with a bunch of ideas with you. A reputable cake maker will also be able to make suggestions as to what would look good depending on what you’re going for.
Hope this helps…. as always feel free to email me if you have anymore questions. I’ve done so much wedding research over the past year that I’m full of info!
Q: The Legend of Zelda Wedding Cake!?
I have a dream to have a Zelda themed wedding cake, but I simply cannot find one premade/designed. So since I have taken classes in cake decorating I would like to make my own. There’s only one problem… I don’t have Zelda and Link figurines!!! Does anyone know where I could find some cute ones to put on a cake? It would be extremely difficult to try to make them myself.
Of course, I’m only 17 and wont be married anytime soon, but if whatever hubby I have agrees to having a Zelda cake, I’m making it!!!
So please, if anyone knows online sites and whatnot to get Zelda and Link figurinees… post!!! Thank you~
A: TRY THIS You might find Zelda Wedding Cake & figurines

Q: What do you think about an Alice in Wonderland cake?
I’ve been looking online and in magazines at various styles of wedding cakes, and for whatever reason I really like the funky look of the Alice in Wonderland-type cakes.
Our colors are white, black, charcoal/silver, and red.
What is your opinion on that sort of “crooked” cake? Could a baker make it with buttercream icing (I personally hate fondant)? What color(s) should the icing be, or should it be pure white with the different designs?
A: I think that’s a really cute idea!!
Here’s a cute one I saw, not in your colors but I love it!

Good luck and congrats!!!

Q: Anyone had doubts about there wedding venue once its booked?
So me and my fiance have eventually set a date for our wedding, may 2010. Found it difficult to decide on where to be married as everywhere is sooo expensive! Eventually decided on a place called Piperdam (www.piperdam.com) the first venue we agreed on. We paid the deposit to make the booking but since then i cant help looking at other venues and thinking they look better!! I had originally wanted my dream wedding of a castle in scotland, beautiful gardens, exclusive use, but we dont and our parents dont have £20k to have such a grand day. Piperdam is still gonna cost us too, its not cheap but is very picturesque like i wanted. I want my guests to be like “wow”, im a bit of a show off and want to impress. Part of me is being realistic and is just excited about being married to the person i love and not care where it is but then the “cinderella” part of me is wanting the wow factor.
Also if any one can give me some money saving tips for weddings would be grateful!
I am getting a wedding cake from marks and spencer and decorating it myself (£150 max)
Hiring a part time photographer who is keen to build up his portfolio (£600 for full day from getting ready to first dance) I was originally quoted £2k from another photographer
Found a piper online who plays for free for sheer enjoyment, just pay travel expenses and a few cokes.
Not having wedding cars, gonna borrow a friends fancy car and have ribbon on it.
Making my own invitations, brother in law is designing them, father in law does calligraphy.
Using silk flowers for bridesmaids as you can pick them up quite cheap on ebay.
Friend who is makeup artist and hair stylist is doing my hair and makeup on day.
Getting my designer wedding dress made by milly bridal for £200 quid than pay for original at £1200.
Having favours, miniture jackdaniels £1 each and sweets for girls
Having a friend DJ at night (hopefully)
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance xx
A: Piperam looks lovely for a wedding. Sounds like you are doing great budget wise cutting where you can.
Q: Dissapointed in how Wedding turned out – How can I get over this?
After a solid year of planning, my wedding day turned out to be somewhat of a disaster.
First one of the groomsmen dropped out, and I had to move my brother from usher to groomsman and find a new usher.
Then the day of my beautiful blue runner had to be pulled becasuse of bad weather and high winds- they tried everything to hold it down and it wouldn’t stay.
The programs I had designed and ordered online were due to arrive the day before the wedding did not because of an error of UPS, (who basically told me there was nothing they could do) and I had to get up early on my wedding day and BEG Kinkos to do me a favor and print out some more.
My hairstylist put my 2 teired veil on backward! I didn’t realize it until later because we were already late starting while my mother was in the next town picking up the flowers and got caught in a hail storm and got drenched (all my wedding photos have the backward veil -short on bottom, long on top).
My mother was late because she was waiting for my father’s nurse to arrive who had promised the previous day that she would come and un-hook him from his IVs for the ceremony and then just didn’t show up. As a result, my dad had to walk me down the aisle with an X-Games backpack on!
Half the wedding party got caught by a train and so one of the bridesmaids never made it to the changing room to put on her hair decoration.
The venue kicked us out of the changing room in the building next to the wedding stating that they were closing up- so I and my people had to cart ALL of our stuff out to the parking lot so they could lock up before the ceremony. So imagine me going down stairs in my wedding gown with a dress bag and my purse!
A LOT of guests didn’t show, many of whom gave no indication they weren’t going to show, the others the result of a death in their family 3 days before the wedding, thus leaving ALOT of open seats and alot of paid for plated meals.
My veil got stuck on the steps and almost got pulled out of my hair (I had to reach up during the cremony and fix it to keep it from falling out).
The same storm that took out my runner and hailed on my mom made some loud booms during our vows ( I had to laugh at it but it was like yikes)
The DJ sucked, played none of the songs we requested, except for one, citing that his ITunes was messed up.
The Bridal display portraits I ordered got ruined in route to us, and there they were outside the reception with huge bubble wrap marks melted into the varnish (we had to display them, no time to get others).
Our cake came out looking waaaaay different than in the picture (supposed to be blue PEARLS but instead were blue BLOBS dotting the cake) and there was a side that had apparently got smashed against the box, the attendants had to cover the boo boo by turning the messed up spot away and using rose petals to cover it, and our cake topper was leaning and looked like it would fall over any minute.
After the meal 1/2 the guests left.
And a 1/2 hour before the end of the reception my dad told people to start cleaning up and they were taking all my beautiful tablecloths and chair covers and decorations off – How embarassing.
On the way out no one was around to grab my purse, so in our petal toss pictures I am holding my coach bag (How fairytale!).
And the groom’s uncle stepped on my train also turing the petal toss/exit.
Ever since then, I have been so upset and bitter, I don’t want to see or hear anything about or even remotely related to a wedding. I hear people talking about bachelorette parties, and spa time with the girls and how beautiful everything was in their weddings, and I didn’t have any of that. I feel like my special day was ruined.
After all my hard work, and all the money spent it came out so awful and ghetto, I can’t let it go. And no one understands why it bothers me so much and why I am so dissapointed but I can’t help it- I didn’t go to prom, was the ugly duckiling in school and this was my one chance to shine and I feel it was totally TOTALLY ruined. I want a re-do, but I can’t afford it. How can I make peace with this and stop the dissappointment and sense of loss? My husband and everyone are tired of me moping. I AM glad to be married, and I am happy that it is to the right man, and I do believe that the marriage is worth more than the wedding but I just can’t stop obsessing or wishing it would have gone a bit smoother, and I get kind of jealous when people talk about weddings they had or have been to that were like, fairy tale nice. I know something always goes wrong in a wedding but I feel like mine was an extreme case, I am so sad.
A: I read every word you wrote, and you’re right. Yours was an “extreme case.” I have never heard about such. However, it reminds me of a few years ago on the Gulf Coast of Texas and hearing about some brides whose wedding plans were totally messed up because of the hurricanes that kept hitting the coast. We can plan and plan and plan some more, but we can’t control everything. And when those uncontrollable things happen, we have to make a choice. Either we can become bitter and depressed, or decide to make the best of it and move on. We can’t afford to let ourselves get “stuck in a rut” and worry over things that we have no control over.
I am so sorry that your wedding had so many problems. If I were your friend, I’d be glad to sit down and have a good cry with you. You have deserved it, if any bride ever has. Yet, I have a daughter who would also cry with us. But, then she something would “pop” into her head that had been humorous, and she would start laughing. That’s the way she looks at life. And before long, you and I would be laughing with her, and would laugh so hard we’d end up crying again. But we would feel much better afterwards. I think my daughter has taught me the healing powers of laughter. She’s not disrespectful, but is quite compassionate.
So maybe it would help if you could take some time to look back and see if you can find anything humorous in all of this disaster. And remember that you still have your pride. You are married to a wonderful man, and he deserves the happiest and best wife of all. That’s you, my dear! Be the best that you can be for him. You won’t regret it.
“Don’t cry over spilled milk” probably sums it up the best. Even though it wasn’t the wedding of your dreams, it will be a story to tell your children and grandchildren. They won’t believe it. In fact, you should take the time to write this down so you’ll remember it someday. You can entertain your future family for hours with this one. And they’ll love it that you can enjoy life enough to laugh and share it with them. They’ll appreciate you even more.
I wish you much happiness!!!
Q: Is he worth it………………?
Quick note, He’s bisexual.
I met him a long time ago, back when I lived in las vegas. He was just visiting, but We knew each other long enough to become friends. His vacation ended and I moved on. A few years later I left las vegas and joined an online game. I found him. And I was so happy. But he still wanted friendship, and I was too shy to tell him how I felt. I dated for a time and tried to put him behind me, or moreso the hopes of being with him. Then he found her. Oh how I hated her. A child in every sense except her age, and twice as good looking. I had already broken up with my date and sat alone. I planned their little online wedding so they could make it solid and known. I designed the cake, helped find his suit, and was even the ring-bearer at his request. I cried behind that screen, wondering where he was after all these years. Time went on and he began to hate this girl whom he’d so dearly wanted before. He left her and found her many times, both online and off. I could never say anything to her. But now she’s gone. And now h’s alone. And he speaks to me with a weak smile. I’m still afraid to say anything. So is he. One loud friend makes it known of my feelings and he tells me of his. Everything is perfect for all of five minutes, when we realize we missed our chance those years ago. So I say with him, unsure of what to say, to ask him to make it work… to help him make it work. To tell him I want to take that chance. Time moves on yet again and I have a way to vegas with a couple friends I’ve come to know as family. They ask me if I want to ask him to come with me, I just blush and smile, crying inside with excitement. I go to him as soon as I can to ask, but he declines. He’s afraid it won’t work, and we’ll hate each other, and live on the streets of the city of neon we met in. I hate him. I hate myself. I try to ask him again and he changes the subject, with an IM later telling me he loves me, and doesn’t want to miss this chnce, but he’s so scared. Now here I sit. Without direction.
If you read this entire thing, thank you. I hate feeling alone in these decisions. I know it reads kind of like a long dragged out book, but it’s how I write. I’m afraid of the future just as he is, and I just don’t know. Is it worth doing this…? Would going back to vegas be a hollow victory for my life?
A: If you both don’t try, you won’t know the answer. Give it a chance.
