Q: Wedding cake Pictures / Ideas????
Hey guys can anyone help me – Im looking for a unique wedding cake i want my wedding cake to look like it has pink rhinestones on it – i have looked at edible pink sugar crystals and shimmer powder – if anyone has any ideas on that let me know – also if you have any pictures of wedding cakes with pink decorations that are different and unique let me know – Thanks guys !!!

A: Unfair comment “Hot Pants”. It doesn’t have to be tacky at all.

I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

I would go with Hot Pants recommendation of finding a local cake decorator and asking him or her for ideas. Anything is possible. It’s your day, you should have whatever you want, and be damned what anyone else says or thinks.

Q: calla lily wedding cake ideas?
I am trying to find wedding cake ideas. My flowers are going to be calla lilies. I have found lots of pictures where there is a plain cake with actual calla flowers on it, but I am looking for a cake decorating with calla piping. Any sugestions would be great.

A: I LOVE numbers 2 & 4. They both have a very romantic look to them. Number 5 is very pretty but doesn’t look like a wedding cake to me. Birthday maybe? Not sure. :)

A: Hi. My suggestion would be….do you have a local bakery in mind? Why not go in to your local bakery….or a bakery where your wedding will take place and chat with them. Most will set up an appointment for a taste testing.

So….you could take a picture in, if you want, but they will have lots of pictures also from previous wedding cakes that they have done!

as for flowers–I am not a big flower person. I don’t know that much about them and I don’t have any personal attachment. I did that last and took him pictures of my cake, my bridesmaid dresses, the colors that I was using for the buffet tables, napkins, etc. Then I got some ideas from him as far as what to do and the idea he came up with for my alter arrangment I could NOT have specified. I needed his expertise to come up with something that gorgeous! and flowers really depends on your budget. If you find a picture of something, those flowers might be out of a million dollar wedding and have been carefully flown in from Timbuktu.

But I’d go to those sites and go to yahoo, click on images and just type in wedding cake or wedding bouquet. Hundreds of pictures come up and they will give you some ideas.

A: While I have no ideas as to the cake, it might be fun to have a cake knife and “pie server” that have rulers as the handle. I’m sure someplace could be found that could successfully attach a wooden ruler in place of a wooden handle.

Q: wedding favor/cake ideas for a gay commitment ceremony…?
two of my best friends are gay and they are having a commitment ceremony next month. they wanted some help so i said i would take care of the cake and the wedding favors. they wanted to incorporate the rainbow theme but they didn’t want it to be too much. i was wondering if anyone has any cute ideas for the cake and favors or if someone has had this theme and had pictures or any ideas i could use. i really appreciate it!!

A: You could maybe do cup cakes with little plastic rainbow toppers. Or if they want a more traditional cake I’m sure you could find a rainbow cake topper on line, just google it. For a favore you could do skitles in a little tulle bag. BTW: I think it’s awsome your friends are doing this. So many people just don’t understand how important this is to gay couples. I’m strait, but have many gay friends and family members. Tell them CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

A: I know of an OSU grad in Oregon who flew a Bucks flag from his front porch every day for a couple of years, until he realized that his neighbors all thought he was promoting medical marijuana.

Q: I am looking for money saving ideas for weddings! Also I am looking for pictures of star shaped wedding cakes!
I am planning on getting married in June and I want to have a fun casual reception that is star themed… just because I love them! Any decorationg ideas that has to do with stars would be great! I also thought of putting a star on my wedding dress! Any ideas let me know!!

A: I would have twinkling light canopies,falling star ribbons and dancing star centerpieces. As for the cake, I would have a star shape cake with little starlets for the guests. For flowers I would use Stargazers and Baby’s Breath.

Q: Decorating the wedding cake with pictures?

I’m a photographer and my fiance’ loves photography also. I think it’s a cake that will express who we are and since we’re having a private ceremony the day before, we’ll be able to show off the wedding pictures at the big reception which will be the next day. I have a photo printer but I was wondering, shouldn’t the photos be in a plastic covering of some sort?, I wouldn’t want photos attached to my cake like that because of the ink.

Has anyone ever done this before? what do you think of the idea?
Okay, to clarify, the photos will be taken off before anyone eats it! It will be an hour into the reception before we do the cake cut and toast, so meanwhile, people can just look at the wedding photos as that pass by.

Photo trasfering on the cake, that’s what it is! Not sure how much it will cost though. I’ll have to find out.

A: Get little picture frames and use those. they will probably stick in the frostingon the sides.
