Q: Blue wedding cake?
I am getting married next year, and our colors are blue and white. Does anyone know any good links to pictures of blue wedding cakes? Thank you!

Q: Christmasy wedding cake pictures?
My wedding is at the end of November, and while it’s not a full-on Christmas theme, we did pick the date because my fiance and I both LOVE Christmas/winter time.
Out colours are silver, gold and dark cranberry (so it’s kind of Christmasy) but all the other details are more art-deco inspired versus Christmasy
These are our wedding invites: http://www.marthastewartcrafts.com/detail.php?p=58574&v=msc_weddings_shopbytheme_heirloomornament
You can see that they are kind art-deco design, and I am made the save-the-dates, and will make favour tags and place cards to match that design.
But for our cake we kind of want a simple square fondant cake with holly or mistle-toe climbing up/down the side(s) of it. Something like this:
http://weddings.theknot.com/Real-Weddings/Cake_Blue_38313/detailview.aspx?id=38313&type=3&wedding_details=Cake&pageIndex=5
but with holly or mistle-toe.
I’ve looked at almost every picture on theknot.com, and I can’t find anything that is Christmasy. I am going to meet with our potential bakers in the next two weeks, so I want to be really clear (i.e. have a picture) so that I will get actuate quotes/what we have in mind.
Has anyone seen Christmasy wedding cakes like I am describing?
A: How about something like this, it is set out in squares and looks like christmas presents:

OR
Something like this that is more plain but has mistletoe painted on the cake:

OR
If you were looking a 1 tier cake, something like this would be perfect:

Q: I need pictures of wedding cakes with blue flowers!?
My wedding colors are Cornflower Blue, Champagne, and Ivory. I’d prefer the flowers to be real, but if that doesn’t happen, I won’t be heartbroken.
Thanks smart guy, I already did that. I was hoping for someone to give me advice from experience.
The flowers for the bridal party will be a mix of what are in season. I’m hopinf for Delphinium, Bachelor Button, Hibiscus, Canterbury Bells, Falling Stars, and Champagne & White Roses.
A: Have you tried www.theknot.com?
or type in blue flower wedding cake in google’s search engine. I came up with the couple of images added below in seconds.
Also, go to your local library- you can find books there with cakes, cake making, and photos. JoAnn fabrics and Michael’s craft stores often have cake decorating books available too.

Q: Where can I find a picture of this wedding cake?
It was featured in the Martha Stewart Weddings magazine in the Summer 2008 issue. It was in a story called “crafted with love.” The cake is white with little blue edible flowers all over it and it has two bird cake toppers. This is the wedding cake I want, but I need a picture so that I can email it to the baker. thanks.
A: This one???

Q: Where can I find a picture of a cake that is decorated like Wedgewood’s Blue Jasperware?
I’ve seen lots of pics of blue cakes with white piping or lace decorations, but I am looking for the blue with white Classical figures, just like the actual china has. I saw a picture of a wedding cake like this in a magazine back in 1998, and have been looking for it ever since. Anyone know where there is a picture, or a place that can explain how to decorate a cake just so?
lulu- thats similar. The white relief should look like Neo-classical figures, Greek Gods and Goddesses and such.
Here’s an example: http://www.wedgwoodusa.com/shop/product.asp?sku=13625&cat=&terms=
A: if you had an example of the china, any experienced cake decorator should be able to copy it. If it is raised pattern, it could be either piped or done in fondant. A picture of the china pattern is all you should need.
Q: Twitches Too Wedding Cake?
In the Disney original movie Twitches Too, at the end when there is a wedding, there is a really cool wedding cake with bright blue fondant and red stars. Anyone got a picture of it?
A: Aha!!
New Post…

Minute 2:07 on the video shows them cutting the cake. It is called a topsy turvy cake or a mad hatter cake where the layers are uneven and look like they are falling over but really aren’t. When you watch it – pause it on the cake image. Then press crtl and print screen button on your keyboard at the same time. This will copy it to the clipboard. Open up ms paint and paste the image in paint. Then you can save it as a jpeg and have the image of the cake.
Here are some other images of topsy turvy cakes…

Q: Midnight blue and silver star themed Wedding ideas!?
My sister is getting married in 3 months and they just decided their theme for the wedding, It’s midnight blue and silver star theme. I need any and every idea you can think of. The only thing that is set is the cake. I need pictures and creative ideas from decorations to invitations to favors to anything you can think of, I need web sites and pictures and anything that could help me get a good idea! I appreciate all the help… Please give me as much info as you can
-Stefayne
A: I recently saw a great DIY invitation that used silver hearts on a blue background but it would be just as easy to use silver stars. Silver confetti could then be sprinkled on dark blue table cloths with silver vases or candle holders. Stars could be made from cardboard and covered in silver paper or tin foil and hung from the ceiling over the dance floor.

Q: Do you like this idea for a wedding cake?
A cake that features black and white pictures of me and my fiancée. Here’s a picture of a cake similar to what I have in mind, only I want red roses on the cake to go along with my red and blue color scheme.
http://media.photobucket.com/image/amazing%20wedding%20cakes/maryeaudet/85e87943.jpg
A: That type of cake is so personal and beautiful!! You should definitely go for something similar for your own cake. I’m sure the red roses would be a lovely addition as well!
To incorporate the blue as well you could have the pictures printed in black and white but have one article of your clothing/something in the picture printed in blue….like when you have a filter on your camera and can set it to only pick up the color of your shirt and the rest of the picture is still black and white. That looks really cool
just an idea.
Best of luck to you on your upcoming wedding!
Q: I need help designing a wedding cake for a friend. Any ideas?
Here’s the deal. She had planned to have a nice but cheap wedding. But then her car broke beyond repair, and now she needs to buy a new one. With the new car payments she is unable to pay for the wedding. She can’t put the wedding at a later date either, because her grandmother has cancer and she (friend) has to have the wedding before she (grandmother) passes on.
What they are planning on doing is basically skip on the church and priest and go to the lawyers with a white dress from Walmart or something. And have a potluck after party.
As I do have (minimal) experience with making cakes, I offered to make the wedding cake. She sent me a picture of the cake she had wanted and asked if I could make it with a few variations since she didn’t like the flowers. Here are my ideas so far along with the original cake.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o255/Ateba-kuns/weddingcakes.jpg
If you have any suggestions for how I can improve my ideas please tell me.
The blue on the bottom is a fondant ribbon that she said she wanted. I changed the color because she isn’t really a “pink” type of girl.
A: The ribbon on the photo she sent you is actually a satin ribbon…you can put a satin ribbon on fondant and it doesn’t get greasy…if you want to put a real ribbon on buttercream you have to use waxed paper and an iron to make the ribbon greaseproof, or put tape on the back of the ribbon.
Anyhow, the ideas with the drop strings are a little tricky to do…they would need to be royal icing if you’re covering the cake in fondant and that will make it very brittle. If you go with the drop strings, be sure you practice them in advance and also take a piping bag of royal icing with you when you go to deliver the cake, to repair any of the strings that have broken off.
I think if you’re going to do fondant, then you should pick a design that doesn’t look like an old-fashioned buttercream cake. So the top two rows look the best to me…either just the cake with the ribbon (and it can be tricky to roll and cut a fondant ribbon long enough to go around the cake and to put it on without it stretching out of shape), or maybe a monogram on the middle tier, if the tiers are taller than the ones in the picture she sent you. It’s harder to do a plain cake than one with a lot of decorations though, because there’s no way to cover trouble spots. Some geometric cutouts would look nice…do them in white and stick them on the cake, then paint them with pearl dust. Stripes are also a nice look on a fondant cake….you could do alternating pearl and white stripes with a real ribbon around the bottom edges.
Q: Mosaic wedding cake?
There’s a wedding cake that has dried fondant in a mosaic pattern of blue and yellow flowers. Does anybody either know who it’s by or have any pictures of it? I think it’s by Kerry Vincent, but I’m not sure. Also, if it is Kerry’s, do you know which one of her books it’s in? If you have a link to a picture, I would love you forever.
