So, I am getting married soon and LOVE the black and white fondant cake from the end of the movie, “Because I said So.” I know it is made by cake divas (cakedivas.com) and I have found a partial picture here:

Q: Black, Ivory, & Red Wedding Cakes…..?
Does anyone know where I can find pictures of black, red, & ivory wedding cakes (on the internet)? Those are my wedding colors and I want to take some pictures to my baker!! Thanks in advance ;-)

A: Don’t look specifically for those colors when choosing your cake. First look for the design. Then you can change it into the colors you want. When using red and/or black icing please note that too much coloring can make for a bitter taste. I reccomend you add the color with ribbon or flowers. This cake would look pretty in your colors for example just change the ribbon.

A: Ok I didn’t know what sort of frosting you wanted but I know butter cream is a pretty common wedding cake frosting so here’s the recipe for that.

Q: Can you put roses on top of a wedding cake, real roses ?
The cake I want for my wedding has real red roses around the tiers, The woman that is doing says that’s this would be a sanitary issue, with pesticides.Ive seen many of pictures on line with roses in wedding cakes , is there a square tower I need or can I put the roses on the cake .. Without making my family all sick..lol I thought roses were edible?

A: It is advised that if you use live flowers on your wedding cake that they be safe, edible flowers and organic and pesticide-free . Usually, a florist will provide such flowers for your cake. Personally, I didn’t take any chances and purchased some sugar paste flowers online instead. Parchment fowers or silk flowers are also a good choice for cakes.

Also, real flowers can be messy, expensive and must be preserved. Silk flowers are a great alternative, as they are inexpensive, easy to store and transport, and look just as lovely. The bonus is that these options will not wilt or fall apart.

Hey all, I have been compiling different aspects of wedding cakes that I like to figure out what I want in a wedding cake. What do you think of these things?

I’m planning on a fall wedding and my colors are mostly likely going to be a deep red, browns, creamy ivory, and maybe oranges(but only in the flowers) to match the season, but I haven’t decided yet…what do you all think?
I was planning on trying to include each of the aspects I said I liked from the individual cakes without making it too busy.

A: i’m thinking the first cake would be all frosting making those folds and i don’t particularly care for the look of it.
i do like the second cake and can see how you could incorporate the bride and groom from the third cake with the second cake quite easily and have it look very cute, very unique! just ensure the bride and groom have the same color hair as you and your man, use your wedding colors in the bride’s ribbon adn the groom’s tie and try and get the bride’s boquet with the same flower as your bouquet. that way the cake would definitely be ‘your’ cake! no one else would ever have one exactly like it.

Q: Strawberry Blossom Wedding Cake Picture?
I need help.
My sister is getting married soon and she has a strawberry theme. She found a picture of a round three tier wedding cake with white frosting or fondant and red and green strawberry blossoms. It wasnt that cute but she fell in love with it. Her friend that was going to make it fell through so she had a change it to something simple.

Some of the things that WILL be different are: Instead of the paste like flowers, they will be real red roses and stephanotis, and there wont be hearts at the bottom & top, instead it will say Ashley & Chris 12-21-07… Or something like that.. No cake topper, just more flowers instead.
I think it will be a vanilla bean cake, rasberry filling and buttercream frosting..
What do you think? Any suggestions?

I had fresh flowers on mine, as well, and every time I have been to a wedding since then I have thought to myself that real flowers make the best decoration for a wedding cake if you are going to have flowers on it. Even the most talented baker can’t capture the beauty of real flowers.

I am having a fall wedding (october 25, 08) and my theme is “fall in love” I am using fall colors. A: Avril Lavigne had a black and red reception, and although I’m not a huge fan of her’s, her wedding was gorgeous. The ceremony was more girly and pink, but the reception was kind of gothic theme and black and red.
