A: Unfair comment “Hot Pants”. It doesn’t have to be tacky at all.

I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

I would go with Hot Pants recommendation of finding a local cake decorator and asking him or her for ideas. Anything is possible. It’s your day, you should have whatever you want, and be damned what anyone else says or thinks.

Q: Can anyone show me a unique wedding cake? ?
I have looked online and search yahoo and google and haven’t found anything that caught my eye. I am having my cousin to do it. This is only her 3rd or 4th wedding so she doesn’t have her own pictures yet. I kinna found one that had like 4small round cakes then a bigger round one on top and so on. I know that is confusing but can anyone find a picture similar to that?

A: for the grroms cake, it is traditionaly chocolate, but it could also be cheesecake or anything else he really likes. if you don’t want it to be a shef’s hat, why not make it look like a utensil he uses a lot? or, don’t make it a shape at all, but give it a really cool icing job.

for the wedding cake, go with white, yellow, or chocolate cake. if you want layers, you can even get a layer of each! look around online and talk to your local bakeries for ideas. figure out how traditional you want to be, if you want a stacked cake or columns, etc.

if you want to svae money, you can even rent a FAKE cake, which looks gorgerous and has one slice you cut out, but it is taken down afterwards and the guests are served from a sheet cake – they’ll never know the difference.

A: Hi. My suggestion would be….do you have a local bakery in mind? Why not go in to your local bakery….or a bakery where your wedding will take place and chat with them. Most will set up an appointment for a taste testing.

So….you could take a picture in, if you want, but they will have lots of pictures also from previous wedding cakes that they have done!

Q: Unique Wedding Topper Ideas?
Me and my fiance are marrying in may.

We want a wedding cake topper, but don’t want it to be the traditonal Bride and Groom just standing there. We still want it to be like that(a bride and a groom), but doing something fun or some characters in a bridal gown and veil and a tux. We were thinking Precious Moments…but weren’t too sure! Q: Can I sue my wedding photographer if his service was free?
I’m not going to sue him, just want to know if I would have a case if I decided to. A friend of my mom (who is an amateur photographer) agreed to do the wedding photography for free as a favor and a gift. Well, the thing is, he did a horrible job. Most of the pictures were bad, blurry, and in some pictures my bridesmaid’s eyes were closed. He got no pictures of me with my inlaws, no pictures of me with all my bridesmaids, nor my husband with his groomsmen. I had an interpretive dance performed, he didn’t capture that. Most importantly, he didn’t take a picture of the cake! I had a beautiful, unique, cupcake wedding cake. I’m really sad because of all the beautiful people and beautiful memories that were there are weren’t captured. If you’ve ever had a wedding, you would understand. Everything is just a blurred memory now and I can never get those moments back. Could I sue him for the terrible job that he did? If so, what could I sue him for?

Q: Funky/Unique Wedding Centerpiece/Decorating Ideas!?
Hello everybody! I need help! I like all the new and funky ideas they are doing with weddings these days, and I guess I just need some help with it! Our wedding is next Spring, but I am trying to get as much done now as possible:) My main problem is decorating the inside of the reception site. We are having an outside/garden/country feel wedding, and I am needing some decorating ideas for the reception. A: Well, I dont know if you actually like the whole candle idea or just the lantern style in the first picture.
You can always take just the lantern, keep out the candle, but put the reeds/ whatever into the lantern, and then place the flowers you want all throughout the reeds.
Or, if you like the picture idea, you can do somewhat of the same thing. Take the lantern, keep out the candle, and get some sturdy sort of plant/ fake plants, and somehow attach a few pictures to the plants, so that they kind of droop over for the people at the table to see.
I don’t know if I’m making any sense-lol. I usually can’t explain the way I think very well unless I have you and the objects in front of me-lol.

Q: What can I do thats differant at my wedding?
I want to incorporate a photo of myself and a photo of my (husband to be) as children/teenagers into my wedding. I want to do something a little differant than just have both pictures framed and placed on the cake table. Anyone got any unique ideas?

A: Please don’t do a slide show. They’re usually long and awkward. I’m 100% in favour of using the pictures for the table numbers – or even incorporating them into your centerpiece. I once saw planter boxes, with people’s pictures on each side of them – and the centerpiece (potted gerberas) were in planted in them. It was a wonderful conversation piece, and people were encouraged to look at each table, to better get to know the couple.

Q: Gothic Wedding Ideas?
I am getting married and my theme is Gothic Cinderella (picture Cinderella as a Vampire). And my wedding colors are Black and Red. Can you share some unique ideas that would go well with this theme, like a wedding cake topper idea, flowers, vows, basically everything! I am in desperate need of some unique ideas for my wedding. Any help is greatly appreciated!

A: My wedding was similar. I got my dress from www.yosa.com and it was a romantic gown in red with black chiffon. Any decent florist will be able to help you get red, black, and other dark colored flowers. Roses are always a good bet, as are mini cala lilies (they come in a beautiful deep purple). Q: What do you think of my dress? Cake?
So I was wondering what people thought of this dress? I want to have a outdoor bbq sort of wedding. Simple rustic country wedding theme. I look very similar to my avatar picture. I in my early 30’s and this will be my first marriage if that helps. Any ideals with hair, accessories, bridesmaid dress styles, (most of my brides maids are on the heavier side) cake, basically anything. I’m just starting out with planing. All I know is my colors are going to be black and white with red accents. We are on a small budget of about 5,000-10,000 for 75-100 people.

Q: Legal or illegal – Tradmark/Copyright?
I am starting a catering/bakery business and would like to have a picture of a wedding cake next to my co. name.
I noticed there is another bakery online that also has a picture of a cake next to their name.
I am not copying the same exact cake, my colors will be different, and I am going to add an additional layer to mine.
Would that still be considered copying a trademark from someone?
The business name will be similar because they both will have the word bakery in it.
Other than that completely different.
I have read so much about copyrights and trademarks, that I’m confused.
The person that is creating my website do not want to use the cake picture, because he states that it is a copy right issue, and he doesn’t want to get in any trouble.

Question: If I make my own unique trademark that is similar (because we are in the bakery business), would that be considered illegal?

A: It’s a bit like how nearly every dentist has lips or teeth in their logos or wedding planners have bows and bells — certain things are just representative of the business, everyone in an industry uses it, and therefore teeth or cake or bells are not the distinguishing feature of your mark and the concept cannot be infringed upon. (Original artwork and exact copies are a different story, though.)

They would have a very hard time justifying an accusation of infringement, but to be a good sport, don’t put your cake in the same position as theirs.

Q: I am having a peacock theme wedding in and I need ideas for my centerpieces.?
I want to do the long vases with peacock feathers and flowers. I am a very visual person so if anyone has great pictures that would be awesome. A: Im having a peacock wedding as well… my fiance’s last name is peacock (soon to be mine as well)… any way for my center pieces I am having tall vases for my center pieces with peacock feathers from hobby lobby ( only like $5 for 3 tall feathers) and white sticks in the vases.
