Q: Does anyone have a photo of a wedding cake made on black pedestals?
We are investigating the possibilities, I have bought some black stands for that purpose. The cake will be quite large, so using several different stands, but want to get a visual idea of where we might go with it, before actually baking this cake. Thanks to anyone who can offer a pic. I did find one small one online.

I dont have a photo but as a cook, I can give you some advice.
I suggest that you take into consideration the following. The black pedestal, the colors and texture (bright, opaque, etc) for your cake’s icing should also match the following criteria.
a- The theme colors in which the whole party is going to be decorated, eg. balloons, flowers, table covers.
b- the textures of the table covers (silky, rustic, country style, etc) and decoration for the table where you are going to place the cake on.
c- If you are going to have an informal kind of party, you can use bright colors for the icing and bright flowers on the cake which is very much in fashion.
d- for an elegant or romantic style party I would suggest you to use white or cream colored icing, flowers can be cream roses, deep red roses (like blood red, which has a touch of brown), or chocolate flowers. You can also use sugar roses which have a silky and smooth ending.
Other suitable colors are paste pinks and leaves-green.
You can use white and red table covers, cream and golden covers, etc.
Other colors that would match for elegant-romantic style party are gold and silver and copper.
so basically if you want the cake to combine and also stand out you have to picture it on the whole enviroment considering the theme colors and textures and style of the party.
If the cake’s table is going to be near a wall, make sure that the wall background combines with the rest of the colors, you may cover the wall with a matching cloth or courtain in order to make your work stand out.
