Q: Where can I find an inexpenisve square cake stand for my wedding cake?
I need to find an inexpensive cake stand because I am only using it once, anyone know how much about it is to rent one, or buy a cheap one

A: try looking on ebay they should have some nice and cheep one and after you have finished with it you could probably sell it on there is you don’t want it any more

A: Most cake stands are rated by weight, the stand doesn’t care what shape your cake is so long as none of the cake extends over the side of the stand and the weight can be reasonably well centered. So long as none of the cake hangs over the edges and the cake is centered you should be more concerned with weight than shape.

Q: Wedding Cake! Will an E shape stand hold square cakes?
Im making my own wedding cake and am looking into the type of stand i need.. I am going to make 3 cakes – a 12″ square, 9″ square and a 6″ square cake… I would like to get an E shape stand but they all seem to have round bases….

Would i just need to buy an appropriately sized E shape stand and then use square cake boards with it??

A: i wuold do exactly that, but the stand then buy 3x square boards to place on top of the round ones, or remove them if possible. using your own cake boards means you can get the exact size so the cakes look perfect!

Q: Need to rent (or buy) 8 separate tiered cake stand. Ideas?
My wedding is in March and I want to have 8 separate round/square cakes, different sizes and heights. I’ve looked online but am hesitant to buy that way because I’m not sure of the quality. I don’t want my wedding cake sitting on cheap plastic stands. I’d prefer to rent but am willing to buy if the price isn’t outrageous. Any ideas?

I do believe that to buy nice quality cake stands, you would be paying quite a bit.

Another idea. Have you thought of just purchasing square/round clear glass plates and then just displaying them at different heights?

You can do this rather easily if you are creative with draping tablecloths, etc. over different “height” objects. It’s hard to describe what I mean, so here is a picture:

As you can see….if you make some of the heights different by stacking books/boxes, etc., and then covering them with a tablecloth….you might achieve the look you are after.

You can buy nice inexpensive plates at thrift stores.

A: my favorite is modern with iced flowers and decorations. My wedding cake is 5 tiers, all differant sizes, blue, with little blue flowers and edible pearls and in white icing little saying are written all over the cake, like ‘Happiness, To Have and To Hold, Happily Ever After’ ,etc.

oh, i’m using long 8′ tables set up in a large U shape around the room (instead of lots of round tables) and the centerpieces will be 12″ tall x 4″ wide oval glass vases filled with white or ivory river rocks and water, the have tall curly willow branches with little coral flowers tied to the branches with lots of greenery and lots of votive candles.
the ceremony will be outside under some trees next to a pond (were getting married at the golf course my fiancee manages) and the reception will be held in the ballroom of the clubhouse it’s a very romantic setting i think and the theme of the wedding is “A Summer Fairytale”

A: 1. I’m loving the earthy tones. Coral and Brown are gorgeous, and adding green sounds wonderful!

Need to use a bit of imagination, we are doing a cupcake wedding cake, we really like the idea and have not found any other cakes we like. We have narrowed it down to two options.

A: I was at a wedding that did this and they did a couple different kinds of icing which I thought looked very nice, but the also did different kinds of cupcakes(btw I really like the purple icing).
