Q: Wedding centerpiece ideas?
I am having a wedding
and I have two options for a really crazy cake, which im planning everything else around… One is a Mad Hatter cake, which is light orange-mango, strawberry-pink, and dark purple, with these white beads weaving around each tier. I would like a crazy centerpiece to match this. the other cake is a five-tier wedding cake that resembles five boxes of presents stacked on top of each other with a large green ribbon tieing it (edible). The first tier on the bottom is orange, then green (a light grassy green,) then pink that is striped with a darker pink(vertical stripes) then a orange box (which is dark and light pick, checkered) and then a richer orange box, with magenta-pink flowers at the top and bottom. What centerpieces can match these? Colors? I have been thinkin about water-filled glass bowls, with floating flowers, and candles, but they dont match, or peacock feathers..but they dont match.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Does anyone know a site or company where I can get a centerpiece that looks like:
box (present shaped) candles with a ribbon (edible or not edible, pretty, crazy colors: mango orange, pink, green, purple,) cute and small..glittery… and with a wick so I can light the candle….or anything with a small flower?…. any place? ideas?
thanks….
A: my college roommate used mini cakes as her centerpieces. as she and her groom cut their cake, all the guests cut the table cakes too. it was fun and saved her money on flowers. however, if you’re matching the mini cakes to your crazy fancy one (which sounds so cool, by the way!) things may get a little pricey! maybe something else to play off the “mad hatter” theme. something like hats on each table that are each filled with something different (one with flowers, one with a couple of dvds, … whatever your & your spouse-to-be’s interests are!). good luck!
Q: Help with wedding favors?
Ok so for my wedding favors I have decided on little cupcakes that look like mini 3 tier wedding cakes. The thing is I dunno what I should put on the tag. Like a cute little quote about cake and love. I’m thinking something like they have a bubbles with the whole “floating on love” or “blown away on our wedding day” accept pertaining to the little wedding cakes. Ideas? and along with ideas do you think it will be unique and well recepted among guests?
A: I love Kristy’s quote about “you can have your cake and eat it too.”
I also like “Loving Each Other is a Piece of (Cup)Cake.”
(Yes, cheesy, but these things always are.)
and “You helped to make our day complete -
Now please enjoy this little treat.”
Q: Theme for my wedding..?
I never actually chose a theme for my wedding, I’m getting married August 21, 2010. The ceremony and reception are at the Crowne Plaza. These are my bridesmaids dresses (in the colors shown)

My cake is 4 tiers pink frosting with black detail. The flowers (unofficially chosen) are black and pink roses and oriental lilies. My centerpieces are going to be colored fish (either black or pink if I can find them) with floating roses.
I haven’t chosen favors and all the little stuff.
So, can anyone help me actually chose a theme for my wedding based on what I have already chosen.
A: I personally don’t think you need a theme. Those dresses are gorgeous though, and I love the colors together. Just make the theme “us” – meaning you and your fiancee. Sometimes themes can make it too cheesy.
