Q: I found a black and white picture of LeAnn Rimes cutting a 4 tier wedding cake, where can I find this in color
The wedding cake in the picture has pears and branches on it. It is a picture of her and her husband cutting the cake.

A: She did an ad for JC Pennys. Go to their website and select wedding registry. Lots of pictures of her wedding. She is also in full page ads in Modern Bride magazine.

Q: Does anyone have any wedding cake pictures of a white tier cake with purple orchids?
I am getting Married on Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) on the Big Island, Hawaii. My colors are purple and orange. I am trying to figure out what to do with the wedding cake. I am pretty sure I want a plain white 3 tier cake draped in purple orchids, but I need ideas.

A: From Maui Weddings
http://www.mauiweddingcakes.com/Gallery/Square/index.htm
it’s called octagon cake

This is a cake topper but the floral arrangement might work

This one looks a little cheesy to me and is chocolate but I’m sure the layers could be made white

This one from the same site has lots of orchids on it

Q: Strawberry Blossom Wedding Cake Picture?
I need help.
My sister is getting married soon and she has a strawberry theme. She found a picture of a round three tier wedding cake with white frosting or fondant and red and green strawberry blossoms. It wasnt that cute but she fell in love with it. Her friend that was going to make it fell through so she had a change it to something simple.

I would love to surprise her with that cake but I cannot for the life of me find a picture of it. Does anyone know where I can find it?:

It would mean the world to me if you could help me.
Thanks so much

Q: Can you help me find a picture of a wedding cake with scrollwork?
I have this cake that I am picturing in my head, but I am having trouble finding pictures of it to show my cake baker! I want it to be white with sage green scrollwork, with icing pearls around the base of each tier. Unfortunately I have only been able to find pictures of a couple of cakes with the kind of scrollwork that I’m picturing. Does anyone know good places to look for wedding cake pictures and/or know of any good pictures with scrollwork?
Thanks!

A: Congratulations on your wedding. I hope these help…

Q: Ever been to a wedding with a two-tier cake?
I’ve always assumed that I would have a three-tier wedding cake. That’s the size of most of the cakes in the pictures you see in wedding magazines and on theKnot. It seems like the standard size….some people go bigger, but 3 tier is about as small as they get for a tiered cake….

As it turns out, though, for budget reasons I’m having a cake that is the only tiered cake that can possibly be smaller than a 3-tier…a two-tier. I’m really nervous — will it look okay? We got a nice cake stand to put it on so that it will be a little taller (but not too tall…otherwise it would look even smaller!) but I’m still nervous about whether it will look okay.

Any advice? Have you seen two-tiered cakes? Did they look too small?

A: My niece was on an extremely tight budget and had a two-tiered cake. They did have a tiny piece on top that I didn’t consider a tier because they took it off and gave it to the bride & groom. The other tiers were much bigger and used those for cutting and serving to the guests. I thought the 2-tier was really pretty.

Q: How do I go about assembling a 3 tier wedding cake using store bought cakes?
Okay, I am abroad and I can’t find a bakery here who’ll do a traditional Canadian style wedding cake. My local grocery store bakery has agreed to do 3 layered carrot cakes with creamcheese frosting and filling. I wanted a round 3 tiered cake- they will only do square cakes- one 6 serving, one 8 and one 12. Can I tier them myself and have it look okay? How do I do it? Thanks for any help you can give:-)
xo

–I’m in Sweden, the south of Sweden. And yes one bakery would do a 2 tiered cake (after I showed a picture of one) for over 10 dollars a serving!
I said assemble-not bake. I am having them made, I just want to know how to teir them. Franken….. your answer was ****.rude!!!!
With the dowels, 6 in the bottom and 4 in the middle—does that mean that 4 of the dowels from the bottom also go through the middle? or 6 seperate for the bottom and 4 for the middle—I hope that makes sense?!

A: you need to put dowels in the 2 bottom layers. They are basically sticks. ive used chopsticks, straws when I couldnt find them. the bottom layer should have 6, the middle 4.they help support the layers.its a great idea.any flaws around the edges can be covered w/ flowers.

Q: Does anyone know where I can get a picture of a simple wedding cake with red and white roses as the topper?

Q: In need of good wedding cake pictures?
Hello. I have some decent pictures of what I want for a wedding cake. Basic 3-4 tiered, round, buttercream cake with real roses with some subtle white frosting design (dots or floral designs). Do you have any great sites that I can take a look at with tons of cake pictures?

Thanks in advance!

Kate

A: theknot.com has over 1000+ cake pictures.
I’ve also looked at Martha Sterwart’s website… the wedding section. She’s go lots of cakes.. I don’t know about 100 or more but it’s an idea.

I would definitely check out the knot though.

Some amazing cakes can be found there. With flowers and details and both! I know, I’ve looked!

Good luck!

Q: Is this a good price for a wedding cake?
My fiancé and I decided to buy a wedding cake from this store in Toronto called Just Temptations. We are having a three tier wedding cake with the dimensions of 12”, 10” and 8”.
The design on the cake will be simple tiny swirls
The wedding cake has a lot of roses between each tier, it would take something like 12 and a half dozen fresh roses to re create the picture of the cake I have chosen. But we have decided to go with sugar roses which will be made by the baker.
The flavors we went with were white chocolate mousse with raspberry, and white chocolate mousse with fresh mango.
They are charging us $675 for the cake and it serves 149 people which is just over the total of people coming to the wedding.
I wanted to know if this is a good price for a cake of this magnitude considering all the hand made roses that have to be made and the size of the cake??

I just wanted to add my fiancé and I have sampled the cake and it was very good, very moist and melted in our mouths. As for the mango I know its not a usual flavor but that was one of the appealing things about it, I didn’t want a strawberry shortcake which you can have any time if you buy it from the grocery store I wanted something a bit different. Besides a most of the guests are east Indian and from the west Indies (Caribbean) so I doubt they would have any problems with the mango, they may even prefer it.

but thanks for the responses. I just wanted to know if I am paying too much.

A: I think this is a great price for a cake, especially since the baker will have to make the roses by hand. We are going for a cake that feeds 180 and the price we got for square layers with an upgraded frosting is around 680.

Q: If I am planning on having a sheet cake, for actual guests to eat…how many tiers should my actual cake be?
I plan on having a wedding cake of course for picture purposes…yet I do not think that a 5 tier wedding cake is necessary, my guest count is in the 100 to 150 range…how many tiers do you think are appropriate? Saves some “loot” don’t ya think?

A: If you aren’t feeding people off the tiered cake then I would say just do a two tier cake, unless you still want a big one for whatever reason. Unless you aren’t doing the traditional saving of the top tier and cutting of the cake, the two tier would work great as you wouldn’t be spending too much and wouldn’t be “wasting” the cake either. the top tier can be the one you save, you cut from the bottom tier, and can even serve from the bottom tier along with the sheet cake, or save that tier to take home and just serve from the sheet cake. This is how I’m planning to do it…

Q: Is there a website that does pictures of one to two tier wedding cakes only?
Tried google pictures. Need more of an official website.

A: You could try www.confetti.co.uk – a UK website for weddings. You might find the information there. Good luck.

Q: I need help choosing a wedding cake design- can you help?
I would like a simple 3-tier cake- most likely white or ivory color. The cake topper will be the Precious Moments Bride and groom. I was thinking of putting some flowers in between the tiers and around the cake topper. I need to find a picture of an elegant cake so I can show the baker exactly what I am talking about. Can anyone help and send me links to some cakes?

Q: How to display wedding cake?
We have a favorite bakery that makes this most delicious cake in various round sizes (6″, 12″, 16″, etc) and also a 1/2 sheet cake.

However, this bakery does not do wedding cakes and tiers. Is there a way to order 3-16″ cakes and display them on varying heights of cake stands? Or will that look stupid?

We want to go with this bakery for a number of reasons: we love their signature cake, the cost is cut in half instead of ordering through caterers, it boosts business for our favorite local bakery.

Can anyone post pictures of separated tiered cakes online?

A: My wedding cake is going to be on cake stands at various heights and its going to look GORGEOUS! I’ll try to find my and add it for you.

Edit:
Here it is! I love it!
