Q: Any one have a good idea for a teacher themed wedding cake? Pictures?
My fiance and I are teachers and we are looking for a cake for our wedding. Any Suggestions? pictures?

A: While I have no ideas as to the cake, it might be fun to have a cake knife and “pie server” that have rulers as the handle. I’m sure someplace could be found that could successfully attach a wooden ruler in place of a wooden handle.

I’m a photographer and my fiance’ loves photography also. I think it’s a cake that will express who we are and since we’re having a private ceremony the day before, we’ll be able to show off the wedding pictures at the big reception which will be the next day. I have a photo printer but I was wondering, shouldn’t the photos be in a plastic covering of some sort?, I wouldn’t want photos attached to my cake like that because of the ink.

Has anyone ever done this before? what do you think of the idea?
Okay, to clarify, the photos will be taken off before anyone eats it! It will be an hour into the reception before we do the cake cut and toast, so meanwhile, people can just look at the wedding photos as that pass by.

Photo trasfering on the cake, that’s what it is! Not sure how much it will cost though. I’ll have to find out.

A: Get little picture frames and use those. they will probably stick in the frostingon the sides.

Q: Does anyone have any wedding cake pictures of a white tier cake with purple orchids?
I am getting Married on Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) on the Big Island, Hawaii. My colors are purple and orange. I am trying to figure out what to do with the wedding cake. I am pretty sure I want a plain white 3 tier cake draped in purple orchids, but I need ideas.

Hello. I have some decent pictures of what I want for a wedding cake. Basic 3-4 tiered, round, buttercream cake with real roses with some subtle white frosting design (dots or floral designs). Do you have any great sites that I can take a look at with tons of cake pictures?

I’ve also looked at Martha Sterwart’s website… the wedding section. She’s go lots of cakes.. I don’t know about 100 or more but it’s an idea.

A: Unfair comment “Hot Pants”. It doesn’t have to be tacky at all.

I would suggest your best idea is probably not to put the rhinestones ON the cake itself, but have wired decoration that has rhinestones on it.

I would go with Hot Pants recommendation of finding a local cake decorator and asking him or her for ideas. Anything is possible. It’s your day, you should have whatever you want, and be damned what anyone else says or thinks.

Q: Can you help me find a picture of a wedding cake with scrollwork?
I have this cake that I am picturing in my head, but I am having trouble finding pictures of it to show my cake baker! I want it to be white with sage green scrollwork, with icing pearls around the base of each tier. Unfortunately I have only been able to find pictures of a couple of cakes with the kind of scrollwork that I’m picturing. Q: Anybody know a good site for wedding cake pictures?
Hello fellow users of the interweb.

I’m looking for some wedding cake pictures for inspiration. BUT my fiance and I have both decided we DO NOT WANT FONDANT! We both think fondant is ugly (it makes the cake look more like a hat box than a cake) and we know it doesn’t taste nearly as good as regular icing, and so far damn near every single picture of a cake I’ve seen on The Knot or any other big name wedding website or magazine is fondant. I’m looking for pictures of cakes that use REGULAR ICING.

Q: Christmasy wedding cake pictures?
My wedding is at the end of November, and while it’s not a full-on Christmas theme, we did pick the date because my fiance and I both LOVE Christmas/winter time.

Out colours are silver, gold and dark cranberry (so it’s kind of Christmasy) but all the other details are more art-deco inspired versus Christmasy

You can see that they are kind art-deco design, and I am made the save-the-dates, and will make favour tags and place cards to match that design.

But for our cake we kind of want a simple square fondant cake with holly or mistle-toe climbing up/down the side(s) of it. Something like this:

My son wants a sprial staircase looking wedding cake i have tryed knot .com wilton, bride.com not their! has any one ever seen 1 or have any idea on how to do it ?

A: Does he want the tiers stacked or separated? If he wants them separated then “Reba” above has the right pic with #36. If he wants it stacked then the tiers are usually offset a little from each other. Instead of stacking the cakes directly in the middle each cake is stacked to end of the cake to form a staircase. I hope this makes sense. Look at the picture here where it says Gallery to give you a visual of what I’m talking about.
